Current Gimmick:
The Harlem Hitman is an imposing man "from the hood". He comes off like a total bad-ass, but doesn't say a whole lot (thanks to his weak mic skills). This has developed something of a "silent assassin" gimmick for him.

Background:
Tyrone Baird was a bouncer in a slummy night club in Buffalo and was widely known as someone not to mess with, despite his gentle demeanor. In 1999, he learned of a toughman contest being held in New York City. His friends and co-workers talked him into participating and he won the entire thing.
Tyrone's performance raised a few eyebrows, including those of Bobby Eaton who was in attendence. Eaton talked to Tyrone after the contest and convinced him that he had a future in the world of pro wrestling. Just as he was getting ready to attend a wrestling school, his mother died. Seeing as he was her only living relative, the financial responsibility of her funeral services and such fell on Tyrone's shoulders.
This delayed his training for over a year, as he was unable to afford it. Eventually, he did attend wrestling school, but he's still struggling to make ends meet. He hopes that his wrestling career will really take off and alleviate his financial situation once and for all.
