Wheeeeee!) Current Gimmick: His name is Gary. And he's a Sheik. No really. That's his gimmick. Not much to it to be honest. He's supposed to be a Sheik, but he's about as convincing as he is handsome. He tends to let opponents go over. A lot. Gary is following the footsteps of other similarly gimmicked wrestlers who made headway in the business over the years. The Sheik, the Iron Sheik, Skandor Ackbar .... and Gary the Sheik. Man, how the lineage has gone downhill.  Background: Gary got his illustrious start as a backyard wrestler. Frankly, he wasn't very good. And he really didn't care all that much. He thought he could "score some chicks" if he was a wrestler (Yeah, right. With that face??). During the course of his humorously bad backyard wrestling career, it became obvious that he could truly suck up bodily harm and would pull off dangerous but awkward stunts (again, to "get the babes"). The backyard "promotion" Gary was in was covered on a local news show. This snippet was viewed by someone from the KWA, who immediately saw "comic relief wrestler" stenciled all over Gary's forehead. He approached Gary and offered to train him. Needless to say, the training only marginally helped. Aw well, he works cheap.
