Background:
Jesse and James Colton (yes that's their real names) had an alcoholic father who treated them more like pals than sons. He got Jesse, who is the elder of the two, into drinking at an early age. Sadly, Jesse took to the drinking life all too well. Conversely, James never warmed up to alcohol, shunning it in favor of more healthy endeavors such as working out and exercising.
When he was 15 years old, James had a nasty little outting with the law. Jesse has gotten himself all tanked up while at a bar. He was barely conscious when a bar fight broke out. Jesse was too plastered to participate himself. He was sprawled out in a corner, with his eyes glazed over. Just as one of the brawlers picked up a broken beer bottle and charged at Jesse with it, James (who had been looking for his brother all night) entered the bar. With catlike reflexes, James sprung into action, beating the would-be assailent to a bloody pulp, shattering the man's jaw and nose with a chair. And that's in addition to the lacerations and cracked ribs he caused. This incident landed James in a boys' home for almost a year.
Three years ago, Jesse and James' father died of liver failure. A lifetime of alcohol abuse had finally caught up with him. This was a rude awakening for Jesse who vowed to kick his own habit. Sadly, it just hasn't worked out that way.
To help give Jesse a focus, James convinced him that they should both join a wrestling school and become pro wrestlers. They did exactly that and it helped Jesse slow down on (but not stop) drinking. |
