Background:
Sampath was a legitimate Bando (a Burmese fighting method similar to Muay Thai) fighter in his native Myanmar, and continued when he came to the United States with his family to escape political repression in his homeland. His opportunities were fewer, as legitimate fights were not so easy to find, and his slow mastery of English didn't help. Then he was spotted in a Toughman competition and introduced to the world of professional wrestling. With some training to round out his repetoir of moves, he was ready.

He enjoys the more regular work, but has a hard time letting go of old habits. Between that and his conditioning, he tends to be stiff in the ring. He also tends to fall back on old habits of sizing up an opponent, and thus takes a while to really get into the flow of a match. Though he knows enough to know this hurts his development somewhat, he doesn't want to loosen up for a return to shootfighting, given its recent surge popularity. Still, he is trying to play on his conditioning, his stiff work, and selling of Bando as a more exotic and rougher form of kickboxing blended into wrestling to overcome most of these problems.
